Some of you might of noticed a mini ‘Stonehenge’ appearing over the week! Just so you all know what is going on these are the first steps taking place to define the area that is to become our Fruity Corner Community Wildlife Garden.
The turf between the markers (old railway sleepers) will be lifted over the next couple of weeks in time for wild flower seed to be sown for a colourful display this summer.
In the Autumn we plan to plant between the markers with different schemes – fruity hedging, fruit cordons …… we are open to all suggestions so if you have any ideas please let us know.
We have three circular raised beds arriving soon and a sculptural wall made from upcycled train brake cylinders getting installed at the end of May – many thanks to Craigentinny Train Depot for this exciting addition. There are also plans for a bug hotel/earthworks that we hope to start constructing over the next couple of months.
